Stay One Step Ahead With Expert Jewellery Appraisal

Being prepared means staying in control, even when life takes an unexpected turn.

While we hope you never experience issues with your treasured jewellery, having an up-to-date jewellery appraisal can prevent complications if the unexpected occurs. Insuring your valuable items and keeping a current valuation ensures you can make a claim smoothly and confidently.

Insurance companies agree: a professionally prepared, current valuation speeds up the claims process and removes any debate about the item’s value. With all necessary details and documentation in place, your insurer can confirm an accurate replacement value quickly.

At E.D.R, we provide detailed, professional valuation jewellery appraisals that give you peace of mind and keep you one step ahead.

The UK jewellery trade trusts E.D.R – European Diamond & Gemstone Reports as experts in diamond, gemstone, and jewellery gemmology. Our reputation, passion, and dedication to the industry ensure that our clients are always one step ahead.

E.D.R is an independent team of experienced diamond, gemstone, and jewellery valuers. With over 25 years of expertise, we provide accurate, reliable appraisals for all types of jewellery.

Our fully equipped laboratory uses the latest instruments for precise identification and assessment:

– Gemmological microscope

– Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR)

– Raman and photoluminescence spectrometer

– X-radiography for pearl examination

All jewellery information, photographs, and valuations are securely stored in our database, giving you and your insurer proof of ownership and verified replacement value. Access is available with your permission.

Valuation is convenient and flexible:

– Book an appointment at our Hatton Garden office for same day gemstone valuations

– Postal service via Royal Mail Special Delivery

– Home or bank visits for high-value items or large collections

– Local drop off points through our trusted jeweller partners

Insurers typically request revaluations every 3 to 5 years. At E.D.R, if there’s no change in replacement value, there’s no extra charge. If the value has changed, you’ll only pay half the standard fee.

If your jewellery is damaged, we can provide expert advice and professional repair services to restore your items.
